George and Robbie Hill, were deeply concerned about the negative challenges facing youth in their community—such as depression, bullying, anxiety, grief, and isolation recognized the urgent need for positive change. Determined to create a safer and more supportive environment for San Diego’s young people, they believed that true change starts with prevention. Taking action, they established San DiegoYoung Artists Music Academy (SDYAMA) to provide constructive alternatives through music, arts, and mentorship, empowering and uplifting the next generation.
We are committed to offering inclusive and impactful afterschool programs for children and youth, regardless of their socioeconomic status, LGBTQ+ identity, race, religion, or cultural background. By providing access to high-quality creative experiences, we aim to empower young people to transform their lives through music and education, fostering a healthier and happier future.
